Yvonne Hail, RDH, BS Hygienist Office Manager

Yvonne
graduated from Konawaena High School, in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. She began her career in the field of dentistry at the age of
15 as a dental assistant.
From 1992-1996 she attended The UNIVERSITY of TENNESSEE at Memphis Health Science Center
earning a bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene. While there Yvonne was involved in the multicultural awareness committee, instructed
nurses and nurse aids on oral health for their patients, and participated in seal a smile.
Yvonne has been with Dental
HealthCare Centers for ten years, starting as a business assistant and graduating to a licensed hygienist. She assumed the
office manager's position in 2000 and now divides her duties between patient care and management.
Her
interests include spending time with her family and friends, reading, watching football, community projects and keeping busy
with the hygiene association.
Rika Blumhorst Financial Administrator
Receptionist

Rika was born and raised in Alaska and is
very proud of her Alaskan Native heritage. She attended school in Anchorage, Alaska and graduated from West high school
in 1977. Following high school she worked in restaurant management, sales and later she owned and operated her own construction
company enhancing her business and managerial skills.
Rika has been with Dental HealthCare Centers for two and a half years as a financial administrator and receptionist. Her responsibilities
include greeting patients, helping them with financial arrangements and assisting them in getting the maximum benefits from
their health insurance.
With her two adult children she has called the Big Island home for the last seven years. Rika
enjoys going to yard sales, camping & fishing, cooking for her family and friends and hanging out at the beach.

Denise Navarro Patient Care Coordinator Receptionist

Denise is a transplant from Michigan,
being born, raised and educated in Detroit. She left home at an early age traveling the USA with here family before finally
becoming a resident of Kona in 1981. The first twenty years of her hawaiian career were spent in the hotel and restaurant
business perfecting her natural communication skills. Denise joined DHCC in 2002 as a receptionist and patient care coordinator.
Her friendly greeting, whether on the telephone or in person, instills confidence and allays the fears of new and returning
patients.
Denise and husband Mike dote on their three grandchildren and enjoy a busy family life. When not working
she likes to spend time at the beach, listening to rock music or enjoying a barbecue with family and friends. She is an active
participant in her church and her "aloha' is evident both at home and at work.
Andrea Amps Chief Surgical Assistant Treatment
Coordinator
Andrea is from a large family; born, raised and educated in Hawaii . After graduating from Kailua High School on Oahu in
1971, Andrea joined Leeward Dental Group where she spent 5 years learning her profession. She then moved to Waianae where
she continued her work experience with the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center. Andrea brought her family to the Big
Island in 1991 and joined Dr. Babbitt as a surgical assistant. With her gentle manner and professional expertise, she assumed
the duties of Chief Surgical Assistant in the late 1990's. In addition to her assisting duties, Andrea is responsible for
training new assistants and overseeing the daily clinical operations.
Andrea lives with her husband Gordon and has 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. She likes to spend time with her family
playing card games and chess, shopping with the grandkids and singing karaoke. With Gordon and his new pacific blue Corvett,
they cruise the roads of Hawaii and sing along with the "oldies."
Amanda Rogers Surgical Assistant Dental Assistant
Amanda is a "kamaina" (native) of the Big Island. Graduating from Kealakehe High School in 2005 she joined DHCC as
a trainee and quickly learned the skills of a dental and surgical assistant. She lives with her parents and helps promote
her dad's fishing charter business. Amanda says she has "fishing in her blood" and currently holds two IFGA world
records; one in the junior division for an amberjack and a second in the women' division for a shark. Amanda's ready smile
and reassuring personality helps patients feel comfortable and at ease while undergoing dental procedures.
In her
spare time, Amanda enjoys basking in Hawaii's sunshine and checking out the sights at the beach. She is a natural in dealing
with patients and has a promising career ahead of her.
