DR. BABBITT was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and
attended GONZAGA UNIVERSITY. He received his D.D.S. degree from CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY in Omaha,Nebraska, and graduated #1 in his class in 1965. Following a two year general internship in the U.S. Navy and active
service during the Vietnam War, he began a thirty-six month Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the world famous
MAYO CLINIC in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Babbitt received a Master of Science degree in 1971 from the UNIVERSITY of MINNESOTA and immediately began private practice in Salem, Oregon. Here he established a diversified oral reconstructive practice with
two other Oral Surgeons and a staff of 15 paraprofessionals. During this time he was certified by the AMERICAN BOARD OF ORAL & MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY. In 1979, Dr. Babbitt moved to Hawaii and practiced part-time for a private clinic in Honolulu and contracted for dental
services on Midway Island. In 1984, he established his practice in Kailua-Kona and became a member of the KONA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL medical staff. Dr. Babbitt is the recipient of the Xi Psi Phi scholarship award and member of the Omicron Kappa Epsilon National
Honorary Dental Society. He has been a member of the American Dental Association, the American Society of Oral & Maxillofacial
Surgeons, and the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Babbitt resides on the Big Island of Hawaii
with his wife Florence and they have a combinded family of 5 children and 6 grandchildren. His interests include boating,
diving, fishing, reading, computers and woodturning.
Bennett Jacoby, DDS, MS
Periodontist
Dr. Jacoby was born and raised in Southern California where he attended Cal State University at Northridge (C.S.U.N.) graduating
in 1983 with honors with a Bachelors degree in both Chemistry and Biology. He received his D.D.S. degree in 1987 from University
of California at Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.), and then moved to Chicago to attend a one-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery. He returned to Los Angeles and practiced General Dentistry for one year. He was then accepted to the 2-year Periodontics
Residency program at Baylor University in Dallas, Texas where he received his Certificate in Periodontics and a Masters Degree
in Oral Biology in 1991. During this Residency Dr. Jacoby performed extensive research and publication in the dental sciences.
Upon graduation he then established a private Periodontics specialty practice in Laguna Hills, California. He is the inventor
and patent holder of several specialized endoscopic instruments used in Periodontics. In 1998, Dr. Jacoby moved to Hawaii
and recently joined Dr. Babbitt. Dr. Jacoby is also the volunteer Periodontist for the charity Mobilecare that provides dental
care to the underprivileged population of Kona. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Hawaii Dental Society.
Dr. Jacoby resides on the Big Island of Hawaii with his wife Andra and their two young children. His interests include fishing,
surfing, computing, guitar, organ, and violin.
